In the spirit of yesterday's post and the fact that I received quite a few inquires/comments stating the love/need for a military-esque top layer, I was inspired to hunt for some cool worthy pieces!
Pairing this style jacket with a light and fun piece is key for me, so I layered it on top of a polka dot printed silk tank to soften the look a bit. An edgy jacket thrown over a feminine blouse is a look that I absolutely adore not only because it looks casual yet chic, but it has a way of providing a good balance between the two styles.
Do you like mixing edgier pieces with flirty and feminine pieces?

You are truly a mix master!
Love mixing things up...feminine is always better with edgy!
And I'll take one of each please.
Thank you.
I have been swooning over that E&J jacket for so long! Such amazing structure & it's so polished for being a military jacket! Also love the first tank - fuchsia & olive pair sooo well together! Gorg!
Can I have jacket #4? Hehehe. Perfect layering pieces.
This is motivational and inspirational for me because I am so scared of military styles! Thank you! :)
I do love my Military jacket, it gets a crazy workout, this time of year. Love the idea of putting it with a pretty blouse.
I love that 2nd tank top, going to investigate it now :)
Ooh yes! Pairing any of those together would be perfecto!! I love wearing something edgy with something pretty :)

I love # 2 in jackets and # 1 in blouses...pink and army green, perfect balance of feminine and masculine!
Yes! I so love the look of masculine pieces topping feminine styles - it's such a gorgeous juxtaposition between textures and aesthetics. That Free People jacket is gorg! :)
I love #3! Adorable!
I love your mixes, you're incredible.
That Elizabeth and James military jacket is currently in my TJ Maxx!!
Yes, I love that mix! All of your choices are so awesome. I especially love #2 in both groups :) Have a great day! xo
I love mixing feminine pieces with edgier ones - the military inspired coat and printed blouse can be such a great way to do that!

Hi,
The blouses are fantastic. So beautiful... isnpiring.
Obj I've been majorly looking for a military anorack jacket but I just can't seem to find the perfect one yet. Love that joke tank so cute!!
Definitely like to mix something frou-frou with something rock 'n' roll! However, don't think I'll be needing the jackets with all this sun we've got - phew, hot, hot, hot ;) Sending some your way :) xxx
Hi, nice to meet you, saw you on Mary Jos blog and loved your outift. The Gryphon one is so cool, just enough sequins. Always love their stuff but sometimes too unconstructed for me to wear.
Wow..I love this selection. The Chloe jacket is amazing, sweetie. Have a fantastic day, kisses and hugs
P.S: I'm hosting an awesome Organic cosmetics Giveaway today! Perfect for a summer glowy skin:)
I saw #1 for $100 once. Curse the day I left it behind! Military is such a good friend.

I say yes tot army green and even better paired with flowery tops!
Gotta love a mix of pretty and masculine. I have been trying to figure out how to wear tops like the Joie one. Do we just let the bra hang out for everyone to see? Those shirts confuse me lol.
Yes! I love mixing casual and dressier pieces, and I love this idea. I'm going to try my jacket that's similar to the ones you've pictured with some of my more feminine blouses. Thanks!
You are a genius at layering. I like doing the soft with soft look and the soft and edgy look too. Just to keep it interesting.
I love these combinations! The Free People jacket and leopard print Topshop shirt are my favorites!
Yes to all the jackets!
